Traveling with Family in Amsterdam

When you’re planning for a trip to Amsterdam with your kids, it might come to your mind whether Amsterdam would be a suitable place for children owing to its age old reputation of being a big depot of sleazy activities. However, if you keep away the Central Amsterdam and of course the Red Light District of the city, it becomes absolute fun as well as educational for your kids. There are a lot of places that you can take your family while you are visiting Amsterdam.One of the most visited places of Amsterdam is Vondelpark. The Vondelpark is locatedin the south of Leidseplein. The park covers an area of 110 acres of land, which is really big and a ride on bike will take approximately half an hour. The Vondelpark has a lot ofcharms that attract tourists from different parts of the world. There are quite a few lakes,playing fields for children, beautiful rose garden as well as cafeterias in the Vondelpark. You should take some time out to enjoy the blissful beauty of the park.

Don’t miss out to visit the open air theatre when visiting Vondelpark. This theatre opensonly during the summer time. Performers from different parts of Amsterdam as well as Europe host diverse live shows and musical performances for free. Different genres of music like rock, Latin, pop, classical and jazz are performed at this outdoor theatre. A Film Museum is also situated just at the centre of the Vondelpark. The Film Museum has a huge collection of almost thirty five thousand movies. It holds shows for all these shows.

The next place that you can’t afford to miss is Anne Frank House while visiting Amsterdam with family. If your children are over 10 yrs and has read Anne Frank’s Diary they would be thrilled to visit such a place where Anne had lived. Even if you have smaller children you might find it refreshing your childhood memory of the book and tell them the story. Visiting Anne Frank’s house is equally interesting and educative. You can take your family to that secret place underneath the house where Anne had hid with hisfamily during the period of Hitler and Nazis.

Amsterdam will definitely prove to be the best European holiday you ever had. Apart from the theaters, museums and parks, it would be quite interesting to go around the city in a bicycle and visit places like Plantage, Windmills, Zaanse Schans, Dam Squareand Waterfront. While you have kids in tow you can take them to Kinderkookcafe. Thisis a café where children are taught to cook things like sandwiches, pizzas, cookies andchocolate croissants. You can watch your little ones donned up in aprons and whipping up creative things.

Last but not the least; Amsterdam has innumerable hotels, so getting a hotel to stay wouldnot be a problem at all. But if you wish to have a different experience while traveling with family in Amsterdam, you can rent holiday homes, which are large, spacious and beautifully located. You may also go for self catering cottages.
